Up to this point (in terms of my reviews), A Court of Wings and Ruin is the longest book I’ve ever completed, and it felt like one of the shortest. I devoured every single page. I never thought I would finish a book of this length, nor as fast as I did, but Sarah J. Maas makes it easy with such strong, compelling characters and plot lines.

Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. With the added plot of war, depth to the relationships between all of those within the inner circle, a closer look at Nesta and Elain, and meeting more of the High Lords and individuals that are part of the other courts, this book takes the flag for favorite so far.

I was captivated throughout by the details and risks each character was willing to take to save the courts from Hybern. No idea was left unweighted for how they could save as many as possible, and it showed. Their devotion to their court, each other, and the fae lands made me feel like I was part of their world and fighting alongside them.

ACOWAR was an action-packed read that evoked a variety of emotions. I was angry, excited, fearful, overjoyed, and even crying at points. I never thought I would enjoy a book with battle so much, yet it’s made an impression on me, and I can’t stop thinking about it.

With the abundance of surprises, twists, vulnerabilities between characters, and such a powerful plot with the Cauldron, I couldn’t have asked for anything more within the pages of this book. I loved every second of it.

I am glad that I didn’t allow the extreme hype of this series on social media to deter me from reading it. I am even happier that the hype met my expectations and even exceeded them at points. I look forward to continuing the series and know that I will reread this book.

I am rating A Court of Wings and Ruin 10 out of 10 stars, and after much reflection this was one of my favorite reads of 2024, giving it a place in my overall top ten favorite reads.

As always, thanks for reading! 💜
